The Recipe – Hacienda Banana Bread

Ingredients – Banana Bread

 

  • 3 large overripe bananas (about 1 ½ cups mashed)

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp almond extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • ⅓ cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions – Making the Banana Bread

 

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Mash the Bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.

  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract to the bananas. Whisk until fully combined.

  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).

  5. Fold Together: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix just until combined — don’t overmix.

  6. Optional Add-ins: Stir in walnuts or chocolate chips, if desired.
